The thread of destiny, the lightness of being, the salve to one’s wounds, the healing of each other’s pasts. In this body of work, Demet Dela Cruz departs from his hyper-filled canvas, and practices restraint. The restraint that comes from confidence, stillness, and authenticity. Knowing who he is, staying true to what is in his heart, and executing his exhibit as an homage to what we all ultimately hope to find. Souls that do not frustrate or agitate; Spirits that soothe and calm; Companionship that is free of fear and full of generosity; Love that is freeing and unconditional. The rhyme and the reason of life when you have hit your stride and know your heart is content. Then comes peace and love in all its abundance.
